![]() ![]() His buddy Rafael has other plans and has witches pull him from the cellar to a bonfire party with all of the students. She doesn’t let him out, though, thinking it’s for his own good that the vervain will leave his system and he’ll soon forget about her. CLASSIC SET UP FOR SHATTERING HER LEAP AT INTIMACY. Hope feels bad that Landon is a seemingly a victim of circumstance and decides to visit him in the dungeon. because their friendship has already captured me. ![]() SEE WHAT I MEAN?! I’m not sure who I’m rooting for yet, but I’m Team Josie and M.G. Meanwhile, Hope still has major feels for Landon, but we soon find out that will backfire. Lizzie also suffers from bipolar disorder, and Ric is helping her cope with her emotions through meditation, so Josie doesn’t want to amplify her emotions in the wrong way. Josie unexpectedly has a moment with Rafael, but she knows it would crush her sister. Josie’s ex-girlfriend Penelope seems to be our show’s new Katherine Pierce (her snarky looks and manipulative ways are a welcoming return for drama), and Lizzie has her eyes on Rafael, but he doesn’t seem interested. I don’t even know where to start with the possible pairings on this show. Love triangles on love triangles on friendship triangles and OMG lots of possible pairings. ![]() Thinking that vervain was slipped into the town’s coffee (a class Mystic Falls tactic TVD fans will remember), Alaric tosses Landon in the dungeon to wait it out.īut really, though, did they need to put him in a DUNGEON? Couldn’t they have put him up in one of the rooms and spelled it so he couldn’t leave? Just saying. Only… the compulsion doesn’t work (done by a character I already love times a million, M.G.) He reveals how Rafael broke his curse, sees the Salvatore School, and is then told he won’t remember anything as his memory will be erased by vampire compulsion. Because Landon is Rafael’s foster brother and witnessed his transformation, Landon is brought along for the ride to fill Hope and Alaric in on Rafael’s past. Landon and Hope had a dance in the park once (a-la The Originals final season), and haven’t seen each other since. They save him and bring him to the Salvatore School, but not before running into Landon. Hope and Alaric find him being exercised at the will of his foster parents, because he’s a werewolf. Rafael is one of our tortured souls at the School for the Gifted. Let’s dive into the pilot episode and break down the ending’s surprise twist. ![]() It’s a coming-of-age tale that never gets old, because it’s something that happens to everyone. Fans of The Originals are thinking, “but what about Kol? And Marcel? And Rebekah? And Freya? And the rest of her loyal-AF family?” I’m thinking that myself, but I think what the writers are trying to do here is show what every teen goes through: the struggle of being accepted by their peers. Currently, Hope fills her sadness in assisting Alaric with obtaining new students. As seen in the episode, Alaric does what he can to make Hope feel like she has a purpose. Hope has Alaric “Ric” Saltzman, AKA “hot Dumbledore”, but he has two daughters of his own where is fatherly obligations are prioritized. But unlike Elena, Hope doesn’t have a loyal, loving group of friends who has her back. Like our OG heroine Elena Gilbert, Hope Mikaelson has lost her parents. The CW’s ‘Legacies’: Dream characters wish list This is a show about a teenaged girl who’s lost almost everything and trusts no one because her heart might just break for good if it’s hurt again. While the pilot of the second Vampire Diaries spinoff, Legacies, has some familiar workings of its two predecessor shows, it already has shown its own uniqueness in the now-official TVDU (The Vampire Diaries Universe.) This isn’t a show about a beautiful doppelgänger torn between two (also) beautiful brothers, or a show about an eternal creature of the night trying to hide that all he wants is acceptance and love. It’s time to bust out your Timberwolves sweatshirts, y’all, because Mystic Falls is back with a new class of supernatural angsty teens. Legacies recap: Season 1, Episode 1, “This is the Part Where You Run” Aired October 25, 2018 ![]()
